Happy [Early] Valentines!
So, I was going through my emails, and I found one that I had intended to send to my dear missionary friend, Savannah Skinner. Somehow, it had gotten lost in the drafts. Oh well! It reflects some Valentines-y thoughts, so I will post it now, for ya'll to see. (Warning: cheesiness ahead)
Savannah,
I've been thinking about you a lot, because it is your birthday and because you are the only one I have told about Jacob and me being "engaged to be engaged". Syd doesn't know, our parents don't know (but they are figuring it out purty quick!) and my roommates don't even know. So uh... Happy birthday! I was hoping to get a package sent in time, but I guess just consider the prayers I say and the trust I've had in you over the course of our lives... consider that your gift. For now. (:
So yeah. Jacob. I found my best friend, my match, my dorky male counterpart. My prince, my hero, my new companion. Jacob and I are so unified, it's creepy! This has never happened in any of my experiences with boys. I just need to testify to you that it's true what everybody says. True, pure love exists. There is no such thing as soul mates, but there is such a thing as finding somebody worth waiting for. I never could have imagined that I'd marry somebody with the same goals and dreams as me. The same ideals, the same testimonies and experiences that have led us to each other our entire life. Heavenly Father really does listen to every prayer. He'll answer each one in time. Pray now for the eternal companion you will one day find. He is out there, probably on his mission too! He is preparing in the same ways you are-- by building a strong testimony and purifying his heart through sincere service.
Life is hard. Life is glorious. Of course, you know all that already. (:
